This is a very brief documentation of getting my Kyocera 2135 CDMA phone to work with the Verizon internet data service offered to its customers. I am using RedHat 8.0 Linux with the Kyocera serial cable.

• Create a chat script called /etc/ppp/chat-verizon with the following contents:

  OK ATX3

• Now run:

  pppd 19200 defaultroute debug connect '/usr/sbin/chat -v -s -f /etc/ppp/chat-verizon'

If you use windows or another dialer program that requires a user/password, try qnc/qnc/
